I am the Fat Programmer, I have been at the same job for ten years and in those ten years I have packed on quit a few pounds. I have always been a big guy but since graduating from college and getting married and I have let my self gain more weight then I ever thought I would. This blog is going to attempt to follow me as I try to shed more then just a few pounds.
A little history, when I graduated form High School I weighed about 250lbs, naturally I put a few pounds on in college and then when I started a desk job a few more. I always told myself that if I got to 300lbs that would be when I took a serious look at my habits and would work on losing some weight. I hit that mark about seven years ago and tried to lose some of the weight then. I lost and gained weight multiple times in last seven years always stayed right around that 300lbs mark, until the last year or so that is. Now i am well over 300lbs, I don't like the way I look and the weight is going to start being a serious health problem if I don't do something about it.
So here I am ready to try and lose this weight and lucky you get to watch to make me feel a little more accountable. I am going to weigh myself every Monday morning and post my current weight on here. I am also going to try post my daily activity's to try and lose weight and post a little synopses of what I ate that day as well. Hopefully this will make me feel accountable for what I do and eat and make me not fall of the wagon, as often. :o)
