Today was a pretty good day. I had some good food moments and some fun so I am happy with the day.
To start things off I had a cup of coffee, a glass of juice and a bowl of oatmeal. i was pretty happy that I got myself in a routine where I should be able to eat breakfast most days. I haven't had oatmeal in a long time. It was really good and hit the spot on a cool morning.
For lunch I did take a frozen dinner and some other stuff but all of that fell out the window when I heard about the free big mac deal. Tim, my co worker, made a comment about how he was going to get a free big mac at McDonalds for lunch. Well of course I had to inquire further as to what he meant. He said that if you bought a Big Mac meal today(1/6) you got a free big mac. Well I couldn't pass that up. So I gave Tim a ten dollar bill and told him to get a second Big Mac meal and free big mac for me. So for lunch I had two Big macs and a medium fry. I was proud of one thing in the whole Free Big Mac situation. I did not tell ti what to get me to drink so he got me a medium coke. I haven't had a pop in over a year as you know but I didn't know what to do here. I didn't want to just throw it away and I felt a little ungrateful telling Tim he made a mistake so i thought about drinking it. Then I thought why would I ruin my pop streak over this. So I gave the coke back to Tim and told he could have it and gave a brief explanation as to why I didn't want it placing the blame on my self for not telling him what I wanted to drink.
When I got home from work I had a few bakers chocolates that were inn the pantry while I did some cleaning.
For supper we had a After Christmas party with my department from work at a coworkers house. We had appetizers of seven layer taco dip, stuffed peppers, hummus, spinach dip, and goat cheese. Then we had tacos, meatballs and little smokies to eat. The to top it off we had some brownies and cookies. I had a little bit of every thing but I was pretty happy with my self that I did not stuff my self or over eat. It is so much easier to not eat like a pig when you are surrounded by people that you actually don't want thinking you eat like a pig. LOL
Then in a nonfood thing to top the night off there with Dirty Santa Grab Bag Gift Swap. It was really fun. There were a few gifts that I really liked. One of them was a six pack of Hopluia pints. I have never had the beer but the person who brought them assured me that they were very good. I had them for awhile but got them stolen from me late. I did end up with two very large New York Strip steaks that I am not going to complain about. I can always go to the store and find a pint of Holuia beer to have with the steaks.
I am Fat and I was a computer Programmer. I have been sitting at a desk for a long time and it is time to lose some weight!

January 5th
Today I had success in exercising and moderate success in eating! I say things went pretty darn well.
Lets start with the exercising. It helped that it was 68 degrees on January 5th. I went straight from work to Class last night. I have class at 6 and I get off work at 4 so I had some time to kill once I got to school. So I just walked out side in a loop around the parking lots for about 40 minutes. It felt really good to walk and it was just so nice out! In other exercise news I saw that at school they are going to have an exercise class on Tuesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. starting on the 17th. I am going to start doing that and hope that I get to keep my 7-4 shift at work next month and in March as well.
Food I did pretty good with today. I had my coffee on the way to work and another coffee at work.
Lunch was a little hiccup but not to bad. I had a frozen Santa Fe Rice meal, A yogurt, a granola bar, a string cheese and then an ice cream sandwich from the vending machine. The ice cream sandwich was a bad thing but ice cream is so my kryptonite. It sucks that they have a vending machine full of ice cream in our lunch room. I am just going to have to work on my restraint, and keep less cash in my wallet. :)
With classes at 6:00 that means I don;t eat supper until I get home from class. I know that eating at 8:30 is not good for you but I don;t have another option. My goal is to eat a later supper on those nights but last night was left over chicken fried rice. I had two bowls of chicken fried rice and 8 mini egg rolls. The only upside to eating at 8:30 is that it leaves me no time to much on things after supper because I watch a little TV then pretty much just go to bed.

Review Of Captain America: The First Avenger
Last night we watched Captain America: The First Avenger.
Marvel got back on track with their movies with Captain America: The First Avenger. It did a very good job of bridging the World War 2 origin of Captain america to the modern day so we as an audience are ready for The Avengers this summer(2012).
Over all the story was good and the action kept the movie going at a nice pace. The beginning may have been a little slow but they do a good job of setting Steve Rodgers up as an underdog you want to root for. Sure it was a little predictable but they had enough fun and action to make me not worry about that. The little love story they threw in there was nice and didn't take anything away from the movie, in fact it may haven even added a little something for the romantics out there.
The real amazing part of this is the CGI. They did a great job making the brawny Chris Evans look like a short scrawny guy from Brooklynn. Also the CGi to make x look like the Red Skull was great. He was just creepy enough not to give kids terrible nightmares.
In the end the point of this movie was to set up The Avengers and make you want to go see it. It did it;s job very well. I already wanted to see The Avengers but this got just a little more excited for it come out.
I give this movie 3 out of 4 stars.

Movie Review
January 4th
Over all a better day. Still no exercises but I did eat better and I actually did some stuff around the house.
I think I can get used to this getting off at 4. I got home and got supper started, emptied the dish washer, loaded the dishwasher and took out the trash all before my wife got home. Now All I need to do is work a little exercise routine in there and I will be set. Of course once I get all that set in place I will get shifted back to 8 to 5.
I had a cup of coffee on the way to work and another once I got there in the morning.
For Lunch I had a can of Chicken Gumbo soup, a yogurt, a string cheese, a granola bar, 2 bakers chocolate left over from Christmas and a twix bar.
When I got home I helped my wife make us Chicken Fried Rice and egg rolls. I had two bowls of Chicken Fried Rice and 8 mini Egg rolls. I know I should only have one bowl and half the egg rolls but my wife's chicken fried rice is just to good to pass up a second bowl of. Luck for me we made enough to have left overs tomorrow. I also had two glasses of red wine, one while making supper and one while eating.
Lastly I was a bad boy at night. I didn't have anything else to eat all evening while we watched a movie. Then when I got kicked out of bed for snoring and when to sleep on the couch I got a hunger craving and had a Christmas Tree cake before a got settled in to the couch.

January 3rd
I started a new work time today. I am now working 7 to 4 instead of 8 to 5. It is going to take a little while to get my morning routine set up again but I hope to start eating a real breakfast her in the next week. The other nice thing is it will give me time to come home and maybe do a little exercising in the evening.
My wife was still a little under the weather today so I did not exercise today at all.
In the morning I had a cup of coffee on the way to work and then I got two strawberry pop tarts out of the vending machine about mid morning.
For lunch I ran down to Amigos and got 3 crisp chicken burritos. I didn't get a Malt or a drink. I was proud of my self for that because it was the healthy and fiscally smart thing to do.
On the way home I couldn't resist grabbing some Temperature Tuesday Runza Deals for supper. I mean how can you not love two Runzas, 2 medium fries and two medium drinks for eight bucks? With my wife being sick and the house needing some cleaning it was the easy thing to do.
After supper I had the last of the Oreo cookie balls I found in the fridge. I shouldn't have done that but now that they are gone there will no longer be the temptation. I now that is flawed logic used just to eat them but hey it is still logic. LOL

One Year Pop Free
Last year I made a New Years Resolution to stop drinking pop. I had my last pop on January 1st 2011. I am pretty proud of my self that I have been able to do it. I had a bit of an addiction to pop and it was a rough year but I held strong when I felt the urge to grab a Pepsi or Mtn. Dew.
I will be honest I have some mixed drinks a few times in the last year that had cola (Jack and Cokes in Vegas)or Root Beer(UV Cake Vodka and Root Beers during football games). But I have not had a straight pop in the last twelve months.
I switched over to drinking lots of Ice Tea, Water, Coffee and Lemonade. I also found a new delicious drink called Sparkling ICE. It is a zero calorie carbonated flavoured water. I like it because it gives me a little carbonation and flavour with no calories. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a pop alternative.
Now I hope to keep this going long term. I don't see why after a year with out it I would ever need to have straight pop again.

January 2nd
I had to work on Monday but since it was so slow I got to go home a noon witch was nice. This meant I got to go home and watch the Husker Football game but it also meant that I ate more then I would have at work. Also the whole not going out to eat thing is thus far unsuccessful.
I got up and had a cup of coffee on the way to work.
Before I left work I grabbed two pieces of pizza that they brought in for people at work on the 2nd. Then my wife, who was still sick, wanted me to grab her some Wendy's for lunch. So I got her some food and got myself a Chicken sandwich, fries and frosty that I didn't really need.
During the game I ate a kit-kat and had what was left of a bag of pretzel M&M's.
For supper I was proud that I did not give in in to ordering pizza but I still over ate. I was going to make us some Mac and Cheese for supper but then it turned out that we were wrong when we thought we had some in the pantry. So I found some frozen pizzas in the freezer for us to eat. The problem is that besides the frozen pizza tasting like cardboard it also did not come close to filling me up. So after the pizza I found some Eggo waffles in the freezer and made six of them with syrup. Not really a healthy choice.
Then to top it off when I got home a planted my self on the couch for the football game and didn't proceed to exercises or do anything productive the rest of the day. So Over all not the best day but things will get better soon.

January 1st
January first was not a huge success but it could have been worse. The worst part of the day was eating a bunch of Oreo cookie balls that we had left over form Christmas while my wife and I caught up on some TV on our DVR. I am not going to post the recipe for these because they are not good for you, LOL. I also did not exercise at all. I know it isn't an excuse by since my wife was under the weather I didn't push her to do anything and I also didn't push myself to do anything.
For Lunch I had some left over Steak from our trip to the Outback Steak house on Thursday night date night. I also had some sun chips and a glass of water to go with it.
For Supper we made what we jokingly call Mm-mm Noodle Soup (recipe below). The joke comes from an episode of Friends.
I made this because as I said before my wife was a little under the weather and it is good and easy to make. It is kind of like a poor man's chicken noodle soup. It is nice to make if you don't have a lot of time or don't want to do a lot of work. I had a bowl and a half of it with a glass of red wine and some water.
After supper I didn't have anything else to eat. That is good for me because I do like to have something sweet to top off my night.
Mm-mm Noodle Soup
2 packages of Chicken Ramen Noodles
2 Cans of canned chicken(Or equivalent amount of cooked and diced chicken breast)
1 Can of mushrooms(Or how ever much mushrooms you want)
1.)Cook Ramen Noodles according to directions on package.
2.)Add in Chicken and Mushrooms
3.)Stir and heat to warm up chicken and mushrooms.
4.) Ladle in to bowls and serve hot.

January 1st Weigh In
I weighed myself on the morning of Sunday January 1st and I weighed 324lbs. I am happy I am only back up to the low 320's after not worrying about what I ate or about exercising in the last 6 months.

January 1st, Time To Start Over
This title has so many meaning it isn't funny. I am and have started over in a lot of things since my last post.
I Lost my Job last year as many of you know and then started a new one(Starting Over). I went from being a COBOL Programmer to being a tech support person. I really like the people at my new job and the job it's self is ok. It can get a little annoying at times dealing with people but over all I have a good time at work.
I also started taking classes again at night to learn some more updated programming languages(Starting Over). I am hoping to parlay these classes into a new job programming again in 2012(Starting Over). I have found that I really miss programming since I lost my Job in February of 2011. I didn't realize how much until I started taking the programming classes again. I found that I was enjoying my homework I was doing at lunch more then I was my job I was doing the rest of the day. Also the extra money programmers make over tech Support people would be nice as well.
My wife and I also decided in July to sell our house and move in to something smaller(Starting Over). This was because of two thing When we bought the house we have now we thought we would be having kids. As tings turned out the kids thing did not work out for reasons out side of our control. The other reason was that I am making less money at my new job and things are tight so a smaller mortgage payment would really be nice. We spent almost 4 months cleaning the basement out, having garage sales and redecorating the house before we put it on the market. We got it on the market in mid-November. We have not had any offers but we have had a good number of people come look at the house. We have also spent a lot of time looking at houses to buy so if someone does make an offer we are ready to move on a new house as soon as it happens.
Lastly I am Starting Over on my weight lose goals. Before I lost my job I had been doing a great job of eating good and exercising to lose weight. I am going to do that again this year. Unfortunately I d not have a nice exercise facility at this new job so I am still working out how I am going to get in good exercise but I will let you know what I do to help with that. My wife and I are also going to focus very heavily on staying at home to eat as much as we can.
So you can expect to see a lot of stuff on here. I will be posting my daily exercise and food diary for you. Also I will have my weekly weigh ins on Sunday. I will also sprinkle in some stuff about selling our house, and going back to school and maybe even looking for and starting a new job if I am lucky.
