Wednesday July 17th

I got up and rode the bike for twenty minutes followed by a two egg omelet and some coffee on the way to work.

For lunch I had a toasted pepperoni and salami sandwich with pepper jack cheese on it. I also had a applesauce cup, a granola bar, a bag of fruit snacks, a string cheese and a bad of sun chips. In the afternoon a co-worker was having a birthday and brought in a huge cookie to share. It would have been rude not take a piece so I did. It would not have been rude to go get a second piece toward the end of the day but I did any way. Cookies are a weak point for me, they are just to darn good.

My wife was not feeling well so after work she went to the doctor to try and feel better so we did not exercise at all. I could have done some by my self but I did not. For supper I had marinated some chicken in a lemon marinade on Tuesday night and let it sit in the fridge over night and all of Wednesday. Then we made some corn on the cob and I had two of them to go with the chicken. It was a great meal. After supper we watched a movie, The Aristocats, and my wife had picked up some Thin Mint candy bars at the store when she got her drugs from the doctor.

Over all an ok day. I could have done with less cookie and more exercise but you can't be perfect every day.

Tuesday July 16th

Yesterday I rode our exercise bike in the basement for twenty minutes first thing when I got up. I like doing that in the morning because it lets me catch up on the news while I exercise. We had been doing really good at exercising in the morning but for some reason in June we kind of fell off of that. So I bumped my self back down to twenty minutes this week just to get myself back in the groove again.

After exercising I made my self a two egg omelet with bacon bits in it and had a cup of coffee with sugar free creamer in it on the way to work.

For lunch I had a Pepperoni and hard salami sandwich with pepper jack cheese. I warmed the meat and cheese up in the oven and toasted the whole wheat white bread in the toaster. It was really good, I am looking forward to it again tomorrow. I also had a little apple sauce cup, a string cheese, a granola bar, a bag of fruit snacks and a bag of Cheddar Sun chips.

We had kind of a crap storm at work yesterday afternoon so I broke down and bought a bag of chocolate chip cookies from the vending machine in the afternoon. I had a free vending machine token and i was kind of hungry and craving something sweet. If I had not had the free token I think I could have resisted. Hopefully with token gone now I will have a little better restraint.

When I got home we decided to exercise inside since it was a heat index of almost 100 outside. I rode the bike again for twenty minutes while we watched some TV and chatted about our days.

For supper we made bacon wrapped sirloin steaks on the grill. Then we cooked some onion rings we got at the store in the freezer section in the oven to go with them. The steaks came out a perfect pink in the middle and really juicy. The onions rings were a nice side dish for them, they crisped up really well in the oven.

After dinner we watched a movie, Walt $ El Gruop, and I restrained my self to one cup of honey flavored greek yogurt for my after dinner snack. The snack was much better then the movie, the movie was very slow and a little to dry for my taste.

Monday July 15th

I slept in on Monday as is my usual routine now, hence I did not eat any breakfast. I need to start doing better at eating a little something before I go to work even on days when I do not exercise. When I got to work there were some left over cinnamon rolls that were left over form last week and they were still sealed in a container and still good so I had one to tide me over until lunch. At lunch time the guys tried to tempt me into going out for lunch but I know I am already going out for lunch on Thursday with my mom so I passed and ate teh lunch I brought with me. I had some left over vegetable pasta we had made on Sunday night for dinner, a applesauce cup, a string cheese, a bag of chips, a bag of fruit snacks and a granola bar. I was a very filling lunch and the vegetable pasta warmed back up very nicely. When I got home m y wife and i went for a one mile walk around the school before we made supper. For supper we made a layer salad. It was a layer of iceberg lettuce, fresh red onion from the farmers market, fresh tomato slices from the framers market, spinach, artichoke and cheese on top. It was really good and i had two bowls of it. As usual I probably put on to much salad dressing but it is something I am working on. Later in the evening I had some peanut butter and grape jelly toast. Four slices to be exact. Also I had a few handfuls of peanut M&M's. Then I had a bag of popcorn later. The bag of popcorn was uncalled for and I know that so I will be trying to cut down on my post dinner snacking in the future.

Trying To Slim Down For Disney World

I am back at the blogging thing again. I am trying to get in better shape because my wife and i are going to go to Disney world in December and there will be a lot of walking and i want to make sure I can fit in all the rides. I am going to try and do a daily post of my eating and exercise for the day to try and keep my self accountable for what I eat and how much I exercise. I will also do a weekend round up on Monday mornings. I plan on posting my starting weight at the begging of August, or as close as my scale will get to a starting weight. My hope is to be close to 310 by the time we go to Disney World at the beginning of December. That means I will probably need to lose around 25 pounds in 4ish months. I don't know if that is do able but I am going to try.

February 13th

Sorry I missed a few days I was feeling a little under the weather last week. The good news is I am feeling much better now so back to the blog I go.

I got up and had my coffee, juice and oatmeal this morning. Then headed to work with anouther cup of coffee to get me through the morning.

For Lunch I had a Santa Fe Rice frozen dinner, a granola bar, a string cheese and a yoghurt. It was ll very good. Then after I got back from lunch our manager had brought in some cupcakes. I had a chocolate one with chocolate frosting. It tasted great and hit my sweet tooth just right.

After work when I got home I got in a little exercise as I did some manly things around the house. I scooped the drive way from the little now we had. It was to slushy for the snow blower so I had to pull out the old scope shovel to get the driveway and side walks cleaned off. Then I filled up the window washer fluid in the car since it had been empty for about a week.

For supper we made salad. I chopped up a head of lettuce and had some dressing, bacon bits, cheese, croutons and sour cream in a taco shell bowl. It was good but not amazing. I really needed some taco meet or chicken in it. Then after supper I had two chocolate rice cakes for desert.

So I got in a little exercise and didn't eat overly bad so I am going to call it a good day.

February 6th

No exercise and not the best eating today. I need to start exercising in the morning before work. I think I( have devised a good indoor work out I just need to get up and do it. Since our basement is cleaned out I am going to walk/jog laps down there. Then in the middle or at the end, I have not decided witch yet, I am going to do a push up and sit up regiment. I just need to get myself a good nights sleep so I can start getting up and doing it.

I got up and had a cup of coffee, a glass of juice and a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. Then I made my self another cup of coffee to take to work with me and left it on the counter. It really made my morning drag because I was tired.

For lunch I had the left over Chinese food from last Friday. It was sesame chicken, some steamed rice and some fried rice. I also had a Twix at the end of lunch. Also before and after lunch I had some cookies that a co-worker had brought in. I had two chocolate chip cookies, two rolo cookies and a Oreo ball. I know I had to many but they were just so good and so close. I am going to try and restrain myself tomorrow since there will still be some left at work.

Late in the afternoon I got an email from our real estate agent about the people who looked at our house last week. She had told me on Sunday that it was down to our house and another house. Apparently at the last second they decided to build a house instead of buy. It was nice to know that someone liked our house enough to have it in their final two. It also kind of sucked that they didn't buy it. But if one person liked it then hopefully we will get someone else who likes it soon.

That kind of put a damper on the evening but my wife got home and we watched some TV and had supper. We had left over supper bowl food. I had 4 pieces of pizza and 6 left over chicken wings. They all warmed up surprisingly well. The pizza really surprised me. I just threw back in the oven for about 7 minutes and it came back out crisp and delicious.

Movie Review of Ides of March

The Ides Of March was a enjoyable political drama. I mean how could you really go wrong, look at all the great actors in it. The over all story was good and the acting as you would guess was top top notch. It did drag a few times but over all it kept up a pretty good pace.

The entire movie revolves around the Democratic Primary in Ohio between two candidates. The main focus is on the campaign of Governor Mike Morris, played by George Clooney, and his staff as they try work to get him the Democratic nomination for president.

There are a lot of shady things that happen behind the scenes of the campaign and you can't help but think that it is a pretty accurate depiction of modern day politics. You have people leaking things to the press, people getting paid off, blackmail and political favours to get votes. It did a good job of keeping you guessing on how every thing was going to fall into place in the end. The cynical side of me can't help but think that things ended in the movie exactly the way the do in real politics. With people making sacrifices for what they think is greater good. Is the greater good really worth all the collateral damage? That is a question I can't answer for you.

What I can answer for you is the question of should I watch this movie, and that is a resounding yes. It is worth adding to your Netflix cue just for the acting alone.

I give this movie 3 out of 4 Stars.
